Semiconductor Alpha Particle QC
Alpha particles present a serious problem for semiconductor manufacturers. They reduce product yield and reliability. The charged particles emitted by wafers, packaging, and solder disrupt digital signals and introduce transient “soft” errors. If not controlled, the products become unreliable. Quality control staff must test components in ultra-low alpha environments. They may have to wait several days for enough statistics.
Your quality control shouldn’t be the bottleneck in your manufacturing process.
Accuracy
Stop the noise! Your counter should count only the alpha emissivity in the material, not the background.
Speed
Look for the ability to test more & larger samples faster. Your QC alpha counter shouldn’t hold up production.
Identification
What’s there? Your counter should identify the specific isotopes emitting unwanted alpha particles.
